Do you want using a PS3 controller on PC? Of course you have your favorites games which you want to play it in your PC. But definitely you cannot use a PS3 controller on PC directly like the Xbox 360 controller. So, you will set up some custom drivers in order to help you using a PS3 controller on PC in the same way that the Xbox controller works.
There are three parts of using a PS3 controller on PC.
Using a PS3 controller on PC steps:
*Part one: download the required drivers
You will connect your PS3 controller to your PC via USB, Windows will install some of drivers but it’s not enough to get it work
You must download and install MotioninJoy; this is the configuration tools to set up the PS3 controller. Download MotioninJoy from here.
After downloading and installing MotioninJoy driver, you won’t have to use it after installing the driver.
Tap on “Driver Manager” tab.
From your controller, in “Hardware Location” section, check the box labeled “Port_#####”
Press on “load driver”, Windows will warn you complete this action, but complete running anyway. After these steps, you can uninstall MotioninJoy if you’d prefer.
Finally in this part of using a PS3 controller on PC, download and install Better DS3. It’s more robust and secure configuration tool. This requires installing MotioninJoy drivers.
*Part two of using a PS3 controller on PC; configure your controller
Open Better DS3; you must see your PS3 controller(s) in the left side of the window. Select a controller to set up the buttons.
Create a new folder from the profile which has all of your configuration buttons. Select “XInput” controller which is the controller format’s standard for most of games.
Name your folder, this will be useful if there are more than a controller, for example; Player1, Player2, etc.
Adjust the vibration to save battery life.
Adjust the LEDs, to distinguish between players
One you are finishing setting up your profile, click save profile. I will be added to “selected profile” drop-down menu. Choose the controller you prefer to use with the profile and then click on “Apply”.
*The third and final part of using a PS3 controller on PC:
Make sure that Bluetooth is enabled; if it’s switched on, you will see a set of characters in “host” of Better DS3.
Select the controller you want to use on your PC
Pair the controller of your PS3; you can use it wirelessly without needing a Bluetooth adapter, by clicking on “set” button you can assign it to your computer.
After using a PS3 controller on PC, close the controller.
